AD/B747/379 - Airworthiness Limitations & Inspections - Fuel Tank Systems - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an Australian aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/B747/379) that previously required specific inspections and maintenance limits for fuel tank systems on Boeing 747 aircraft.

What changed:

• As of 16 November 2009, the Australian directive no longer applies.
• Aircraft operators must now follow an American Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety directive (FAA AD 2008-10-07R1) issued in October 2009 instead.

Why it matters: This change was made because Australian law was updated to automatically recognize safety directives from the aircraft's country of origin (the United States) as binding in Australia. This removes duplicated rules while ensuring the same safety standards apply, since Boeing designs its aircraft under American regulations.
