AD/B747/340 - Fuselage Main Frame - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels a previous aircraft safety rule (Airworthiness Directive B747/340) that applied to Boeing 747 aeroplanes.

What it does

• Cancels the Australian requirement to inspect or modify the fuselage (main body) main frame on Boeing 747 series aircraft.
• Removes the obligation from aircraft owners and operators to comply with the previous directive.

Why it matters The original safety requirements have been replaced by a newer US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) directive (AD 2010-01-01). Rather than maintaining duplicate rules, Australia is cancelling its own directive and deferring to the US regulation. This reduces regulatory overlap while maintaining safety standards.

Who is affected Owners, operators, and maintenance organisations responsible for Boeing 747 series aircraft.

Effective date The cancellation takes effect on 16 February 2010.
