This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of specified Boeing 747 series aeroplanes to inspect the part numbers of fire extinguisher bottles in the engines and APU and to replace any bottles that match the pre‑service‑bulletin part numbers with the post‑SB parts; it also prohibits reinstalling the pre‑SB part numbers. It affects aircraft owners, operators and maintenance organisations, who must perform inspections, follow Boeing/Kidde service instructions and fund any replacements under CASA authority.
