Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document cancels a previous safety rule for Boeing 747 aircraft.

What it does:

Revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/B747/260, which previously required specific maintenance actions regarding the bulkhead frame support at Body Station 2598 (a specific location on the aircraft fuselage).
The cancellation took effect on 8 June 2006.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Boeing 747 series aeroplanes.

Why it matters: You no longer need to comply with the old AD/B747/260. However, the safety requirements have not been removed—they have simply been moved to a different directive (AD/B747/296 Amendment 1) to consolidate related rules and reduce regulatory clutter. This streamlines compliance paperwork while maintaining the same airworthiness standards.
