Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This document officially cancels a previous safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/B747/259) that required inspections or fixes for trailing edge flap actuator fittings on Boeing 747 aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Boeing 747 series aeroplanes.

Why it matters: The safety requirements haven't disappeared—they've been moved into a different directive (AD/B747/290 Amendment 1) to consolidate the rules. This cancellation simply tidies up the rulebook by removing the old, duplicated directive to avoid confusion. No immediate action is required by aircraft operators because the new directive now covers these requirements.
