Requires operators of Boeing 747‑100 and ‑200 aeroplanes modified by FAA STC SA8622SW to deactivate existing in‑flight entertainment (IFE) systems within 18 months and forbids further installations under that STC immediately. CASA says this is to ensure flight crew can remove electrical power from the IFE to manage smoke or fumes; affected operators must carry out specified engineering changes, bear deactivation costs and lost IFE revenue, and comply with the directive's timing and documentation.
