Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: This document cancels a previous aircraft safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/B747/228 Amdt 1) that applied to Boeing 747 aeroplanes.

What it does: It officially scraps the old directive effective 8 June 2006. If you were following the previous rule about the Station 2598 Bulkhead Forward Inner Chord (a structural component near the front of the aircraft), you no longer need to comply with this specific directive.

What to do instead: The safety requirements have been consolidated into a different directive — AD/B747/296 Amdt 1. Aircraft operators must now follow that replacement directive instead.

Who this affects: Airlines, maintenance organisations, and operators of Boeing 747 series aircraft.
