Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of certain Boeing 747-100/200/300 aircraft to perform a visual check of overhead stowage-bin hinge bolts and nuts and to install any missing bolts/nuts following Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 747-25A3095 (or Revision 1). Officials say missing hinge bolts have caused bins to fall and could injure occupants. The directive imposes an inspection-and‑repair obligation on operators, with associated labour and parts costs, and a fixed compliance deadline (before 20 September 1996).
