Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

CASA requires a structural modification to the nacelle strut/wing engine attachment on certain Boeing 747s (line positions 001–814) fitted with Pratt & Whitney JT9D engines (excluding JT9D‑70) by following FAA AD 95‑10‑16 (rev. effective 17 Aug 1995) and related Boeing service information. The change improves attachment damage tolerance and reduces recurring inspections; operators bear costs and must comply per the FAA AD as enforced by CASA.
