Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires operators of Boeing 747-300 and -400 aircraft fitted with specified BFGoodrich stretched upper-deck evacuation slides (listed part numbers) to modify those slides following BFGoodrich Service Bulletin 7A1323-25-266 Rev 1. Compliance is required by 6 April 1998. The modification responds to reports of loss of pressure and non-inflation linked to restraint straps, the regulator assembly and turbo fan flapper retaining roll pins. Operators are responsible for carrying out and funding the modifications; one listed ‘‘product improvement’’ is explicitly optional.
