Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive orders operators of Boeing 747-100/200/300 aircraft fitted with BFGoodrich evacuation slide/raft regulators (parts 4A3194-1, -2, -3) to modify those regulators in accordance with BFGoodrich Service Bulletin 4A3221-25-250. The modification must be done before 26 November 1996.

The AD was issued because regulators of a similar design had been associated with slides failing to inflate on deployment; it requires a technical retrofit that imposes cost, maintenance time and planning obligations on affected operators.
