Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Boeing 747‑300 and 747‑400 aeroplanes fitted with specified BFGoodrich escape slide/rafts to carry out the technical actions of FAA AD 92‑13‑12 (see BFGoodrich SB 25‑232). CASA sets a revised compliance effective date of 10 December 1992 for Australian‑registered aircraft.

It responds to reports that slide/rafts can inflate slowly due to high regulator friction or low gas pressure; aircraft operators must inspect, service or modify those devices, bearing the compliance and maintenance costs.
