Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of certain Boeing 747 models to carry out the corrective work specified in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 747-52A2237 to address migrating guide‑arm bearings on the main entry door. CASA mandates completion of the work by 25 August 1992 and affected operators (airlines/owners) must pay to perform the actions. The stated purpose is to prevent loss of the emergency‑door power assist or inability to open the door for evacuation; the AD also extends the FAA’s originally required effective date by about two months.
