This directive requires operators of Boeing 737 aircraft fitted with certain brake part numbers to follow FAA AD 92-15-03, which sets new maximum brake-wear limits and related inspection/repair actions; an Australian compliance date of 15 October 1992 applies. The change responds to an FAA investigation that found many brake assemblies near the previous wear limit and unable to absorb the required energy.
