Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive requires Boeing 737s fitted with certain older radio control panels to have those panels replaced with designated upgraded units by 12 January 1993. CASA enforces the rule, which adopts an FAA airworthiness directive.

It affects aircraft owners/operators (or their maintenance providers), who must procure parts, schedule the swap and bear costs and downtime to prevent uncommanded HF/VHF frequency changes.
