Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of the listed Boeing 737‑100, ‑200, ‑200C, ‑300, ‑400 and ‑500 series aeroplanes to replace the existing straight‑to‑90° lavatory “A” water hose assembly with a straight hose plus a separate 90° elbow, following the technical actions in FAA AD 2008‑17‑13 and Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 737‑38A1054. The stated purpose is to prevent a hose separation that could leak water into the flight‑deck ceiling, risk an electrical short and loss of flight‑essential functions. Operators pay for parts, maintenance labour and downtime and must comply by the effective date.
