This airworthiness directive requires operators of specified Boeing 737s to inspect the APU generator feeder wire bundle for interference with control cables before the next flight after 30 November 1984, and to repeat that inspection each time the APU generator circuit breaker is removed (Compliance). Operators must perform the inspections and may end the inspection requirement by modifying the feeder bundle installation per Boeing SB 737-24-1038; the measure responds to incidents where the bundle abraded and severed the first officer’s elevator down control cable (Note; Background).
