This Directive requires operators of Boeing 737‑100, ‑200 and ‑200C aircraft that have magnesium aileron‑tab mast and hinge fittings to inspect for cracking and to carry out repairs or replacements following FAA AD 69‑12‑06 Amendment 39‑780 and the referenced Boeing service bulletins. Operators must perform inspections or replace magnesium fittings with aluminium parts and adjustable control rods to stop repeat inspections. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority delegate made the Directive effective 13 April 2006; operators pay for the work and must follow the FAA/Boeing technical instructions.
