Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires Model 737‑200 aeroplanes fitted with SAF‑T‑GLO emergency floor path lighting under STC ST00969AT to comply with the technical actions specified in FAA AD 2000‑03‑05 (Amdt 39‑11562). It takes effect on 22 December 2005. It matters because the FAA found the existing system may not provide adequate lighting and cueing for safe evacuation.

Operators and owners of affected aircraft must carry out the inspections or modifications and bear the costs; the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (delegate David Villiers) enforces compliance.
