AD/B737/242 Amdt 2 - Fuselage Skin, Doubler, Strap, and Frames Surrounding Cargo Doors

This amendment requires operators of Boeing 737‑100 through ‑500 series aeroplanes to carry out the inspections and corrective actions set out in FAA AD 2005‑07‑19 (as amended). It formally accepts FAA Form 8100‑9 as an alternative way to identify affected aircraft and record repeat inspection timing. The measure responds to reported fatigue cracking in the fuselage skin, doublers, bearstraps and frames around forward and aft cargo doors that could lead to frame failure, loss of a cargo door and rapid decompression; operators must comply by the existing deadlines.
