Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Boeing 737-100, -200, -200C, -300, -400 and -500 (line numbers 1–3132) to inspect landing-gear parts and maintenance records, ensure parts have serial numbers and tracked flight-cycle counts, assign missing identifiers, remove components when they reach life limits, and add those parts to safe-life lists by complying with FAA AD 2003-07-12. It affects aircraft owners, operators and maintenance organisations who must carry out inspections, update records and replace parts; the goal stated is to reduce the risk of in-service failures by enforcing traceability and life limits.
