Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of certain Boeing 737-600/700/800 aeroplanes to perform initial and repeated inspections and any corrective action on a fuel hose coupling at the engine fan case firewall, by following the procedures in FAA AD 2002-14-21 and the referenced Boeing service bulletin. The CASA delegate issues the requirement; aircraft operators must arrange and pay for the inspections and repairs. The stated aim is to prevent fuel leaks from chafing; the directive changes operator behaviour by imposing mandated inspection intervals and corrective work, effective 20 March 2003.
