Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Boeing 737-600, -700 and -800 aeroplanes (line numbers 1–477) to carry out the inspection and corrective actions specified in FAA AD 2000-07-09 for loose nuts/bolts on the elevator power control unit input crank arm and vernier input rod. CASA makes those FAA technical instructions mandatory in Australia and sets the compliance effective date as 31 October 2002.

Aircraft operators pay for inspections/repairs and must schedule the work to avoid the risk of bolt loss and possible control problems during takeoff and landing; the AD cross-references Boeing service information for technical detail.
