This Airworthiness Directive, issued by a CASA delegate under subregulation 39.1(1) of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1998, requires operators of Boeing 737 series aeroplanes to carry out specified inspections and, where needed, replace engine and APU fire‑detection assemblies or elements to address an identified unsafe condition.

It affects aircraft owners/operators and maintenance organisations, who must perform the mandated work within the AD’s prescribed timeframes and bear the costs (parts, labour, and downtime).
