Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Requires operators of Boeing 737-100/200/300/400/500 series aircraft to carry out the inspections and corrective actions set out in FAA AD 99-19-27, but under a CASA‑approved maintenance program instead of an FAA‑approved one. The amendment simply corrects a typographical error in the original directive; compliance dates and required actions remain unchanged. The directive responds to reports of multiple main landing gear wheel tie‑bolt failures that can cause wheel rim failure, rapid tyre deflation, and possible aircraft damage or injury.

Applicability: All Model 737-100, -200, -300, -400, and -500 series aircraft.

Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 99-19-27 Amdt 39- 11314.
