Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires operators of certain Boeing 737‑100/‑200 (specific line numbers) to perform recurring inspections of the horizontal stabilizer centre‑section rear spar upper chord attach lugs per Boeing Service Bulletin 737‑55‑1033. An initial check is due by 40,000 landings (or later if reset by specified chord work) and repeats every 5,700 landings. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority enforces it; operators bear inspection, repair and scheduling costs to detect cracks that could lead to stabilizer loss.
