Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Owners/operators of Boeing 727s with auxiliary fuel systems must perform the inspections, tests and corrective actions in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 727-28A0062 Rev 5 within 500 flight cycles from 14 Sept 1995, unless already done. Installing Boeing’s refuel/vent line shrouds is a terminating fix. Amendment 2 also requires replacing the fuel tank cap on any deactivated auxiliary tank before it reaches 500 cycles. This prevents auxiliary fuel‑cell collapse and unintended fuel transfer.
