Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Boeing 727 and 727C aircraft (line numbers 153, 290 and 339) to inspect and modify the mid‑galley door hinge cutouts in accordance with FAA AD 2000‑08‑19 and Boeing Service Bulletin 727‑53‑0054 Rev 1 because fatigue testing found cracking from pressurisation cycles. Compliance is mandatory from 13 July 2000; the CASA delegate issued the AD under CAR 1998 subreg 39.1(1), so operators must follow the FAA/Boeing technical instructions and bear the cost and effort of inspection and modification.
