Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires operators of certain Boeing 727s fitted with Bendix brakes and NASCO rotors (per STC SA3948NM and listed part numbers) to follow FAA AD 93-02-08 and the labelled Requirement Document, imposing stricter brake-wear limits and mandatory inspections/repairs or replacements.

It affects aircraft owners, operators and maintenance organisations (who bear costs, downtime and administrative steps), and is enforced by CASA to reduce runway-excursion risk by tightening brake maintenance thresholds.
