Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD mandates that all Boeing 727 series aircraft be modified—adding access doors to the horizontal stabilizer—by complying with Boeing Service Bulletin No. 55‑12 (R)‑1 before each aeroplane reaches 12,000 hours TIS. Owners/operators must fund and schedule the work, engage qualified maintenance providers, update records, and accept short‑term downtime; the change appears aimed at improving access for inspection/maintenance.
