| Applicability: | Model 717-200 aircraft, as identified in Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 717-38A0004 Revision 1, or later FAA approved revision; excluding fuselage number 5005. |

| Requirement: | Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 2008-11-06 Amdt 39-15528. |
| Compliance: | As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of31 July 2008. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 31 July 2008. | |
| Background: | The FAA received reports of interference between the potable water supply hose and/or grey water drain hose at the aft lavatories, and the fuel line and/or power feeder cables of the auxiliary power unit located below the aft cabin floor. Such interference and chafing, unless detected and corrected, could cause arcing and sparking, and/or fuel leakage and consequent fire. |
