Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of all Boeing 717‑200 aircraft to carry out repetitive inspections of the main spoiler actuator support fittings and stop pads, following the technical instructions in FAA AD 2003‑14‑05 and Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 717‑57A0016, with compliance timed as specified and effective 2 October 2003. CASA issued the Directive under CASR subregulation 39.1(1) after reports of cracking at each of the four spoiler actuator support locations; operators pay for inspections and any repairs and must take follow‑up actions where cracking is found.
