Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What it is: An urgent safety order requiring immediate structural reinforcement of the tail section on specific helicopters.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Brantly B-2 helicopters with serial numbers below 45 (early production models).

What it requires: You must immediately reinforce the tail cone (the rear structural section of the helicopter) by following the technical instructions in Brantly Service Bulletin No. 5.

Why it matters: This directive addresses a critical structural weakness that could cause the tail cone to fail during flight, potentially leading to catastrophic loss of control. The compliance term "forthwith" means this work must be completed before the next flight — there is no grace period or extension available.
