Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document cancels an old aviation safety rule that applied to Brantly B-2 Series Helicopters.

What the rule required: Since 1968, owners of these helicopters had to install "tail rotor strike indicators"—devices that warn pilots of minor impacts or strikes on the tail rotor blades.

Why it is being cancelled: The original directive gave operators 100 flying hours to install the indicators after March 1968. Because all affected helicopters would have been modified decades ago, the requirement is now redundant.

What this means: Operators are no longer legally required to follow this specific directive. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has formally removed the obligation.
