AD/B-2/24 - Rudder Control Post Upper Attachment - Modification - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old helicopter safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/B-2/24) that has been in place since 1965.

What it used to require: The original directive required owners of Brantly B-2 series helicopters to replace the aluminium upper attachment brackets on the rudder control posts with stronger steel brackets (following manufacturer's Service Bulletin No. 19). Compliance was required immediately ("forthwith").

Why it's being cancelled: Because the compliance was immediate and the directive is 44 years old, the regulator (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) assumes all affected helicopters have already been modified. Since the safety fix has been applied to the entire fleet, the rule is no longer needed.
