What this is: This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) that applied to Eurocopter AS 355 helicopter operators.
What it does: As of 26 February 2009, the requirements to inspect or repair the upper and lower vertical fin spars (the structural beams in the tail fin) are no longer found in this specific directive.
Who it affects: Owners and operators of Eurocopter AS 355 (also known as the Twin Ecureuil or Twin Squirrel) series helicopters.
Why it matters: The safety requirements haven't disappeared—they've simply been moved to a different rule (AD/AS 355/98 Amendment 1) to consolidate overlapping regulations. This cancellation prevents confusion by removing duplicate requirements.
