What this does This document cancels an earlier safety rule (Airworthiness Directive) that applied to Eurocopter AS 355 Twin Ecureuil helicopters.

What changed Previously, this Australian-specific directive set retirement limits for fatigue-critical components — parts that wear out from repeated stress and must be replaced after a certain number of flight hours or cycles. As of 30 July 2009, those retirement limits have moved into the aircraft's Airworthiness Limitations (the standard technical documentation for the helicopter). This means the separate Australian directive is no longer needed and has been cancelled.

Why it matters You must still follow the retirement limits for fatigue-critical parts, but you'll now find them in the Airworthiness Limitations section rather than in this separate directive.
