This instrument cancels an earlier Australian airworthiness directive that applied to Turbomeca Arriel-series turbine engines (used in helicopters like the AS350/EC130). It matters because, from 12 November 2009, the equivalent EASA AD (2009‑0236) covers the same gas‑generator second‑stage turbine safety issue, so operators must comply with the European directive rather than the cancelled Australian one.
