Compliance: As specified in the Requirement Document with a revised effective date of 12 December 1991 for Australian registered aircraft.
Background: Instances of fatigue cracking have been reported in the engine cowl attachments. These defects could ultimately lead to in-flight loss of the small aprons and hinged cowls. The effective date of the DGAC AD is September 1991. This Directive permits compliance to be deferred two months.
