Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Directive requires operators of Honeywell ALF502-series engines (as identified in the Requirement Document) to inspect the flow-divider fuel tube per FAA AD 2003-02-01 within 100 flight hours of the Directive (effective 29 January 2003). CASA issued it after inadequate clamping led to a fuel-tube fatigue failure and engine fire. Operators must carry out the FAA-prescribed inspection and any corrective work, bearing inspection and maintenance costs and any aircraft downtime while complying.
