Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This emergency Airworthiness Directive immediately grounds Allison Model 250 turbine engines (or modules) that were overhauled or released by Falcon Helicopters Inc. Operators must remove affected engines from service within 10 flight hours and they may not be returned to service until fully disassembled and inspected to verify compliance with the Allison Engine Company’s specifications.

The AD targets owners, operators and maintenance holders of Allison 250 engines after a post-overhaul failure and 15 additional defect reports, declaring the engines an unacceptable air-safety risk.
