Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This rule requires owners/operators of helicopters with Allison 250-series engines fitted with quick-disconnect magnetic oil plugs to inspect plug lockpins and slots and to perform an operational check to verify the plugs are functioning.

Compliance follows the manufacturer's Commercial Engine Bulletins. The requirement preserves the magnetic-plug early-warning function so metal debris is detected before it can cause undetected engine damage or catastrophic in-flight engine failure.
