Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of aircraft fitted with specified Brackett engine air inlet filter assemblies to remove the foam element and inspect the aluminium diamond-mesh retainer for cracks, and to replace any defective retainer with a listed steel screen or the aircraft manufacturer’s original filter assembly before further flight. Compliance must occur within 100 hours time‑in‑service after 31 March 1979 and then every 100 hours until the aluminium retainer is replaced; it affects aircraft owners, operators and maintenance providers who use those filter models.
