Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this does: This is a mandatory safety order (called an Airworthiness Directive) that requires owners to modify the pilot's seat in specific agricultural aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Ayres Thrush (Snow) Commander Model S-2D aeroplanes.

What must be done: You must install a modification that restricts how far the pilot's seat can slide forward and backward (seat travel). The work must follow the technical blueprint "Snow Commander (Aust) Drawing No. 150".

When: Immediately — the directive uses the legal term "forthwith", meaning compliance is required as soon as possible without delay.

Why it matters: This prevents the seat from sliding into a position where the pilot cannot properly reach the controls, which could cause loss of aircraft control during flight.
