AD/AC-SNOW/8 - Installation of Padding to Cockpit Upper Cross Tube - Modification - CANCELLED

What this document does: It officially cancels an old aviation safety rule that required protective padding in specific agricultural aircraft.

Background: In 1968, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) issued a rule requiring owners of Ayres Thrush (Snow) Commander series aeroplanes (crop-dusting planes) to install padding on the cockpit's upper cross tube. This was to protect pilots from injury during operations.

Why it's cancelled: This rule is 40 years old. CASA determined that every affected aircraft would have been modified by now, so the requirement is no longer necessary.

What this means: As of 28 August 2008, aircraft owners no longer need to follow this specific directive. The padding should already be installed on all relevant planes.
