This mandatory Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of Ayres Thrush Commander S2R-T65, T34, T15, T11, and R1820 aircraft to replace six lower aileron-hinge bolts to prevent in‑flight bolt failure that can jam ailerons and render the airplane uncontrollable. Compliance allows either immediate replacement with larger bolts within 5 flight hours or a temporary same-size replacement within 5 hours followed by larger bolts within 120 flight hours.
