Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this requires: Owners and operators of specific Twin Commander aircraft must inspect the fasteners (screws/bolts) on the main cabin door.

Who it affects: Only the following aircraft with these exact serial numbers:

Models 690A and 690B (Serial Nos. 11100 to 11566)
Model 690C (Serial Nos. 11600 to 11670)
Model 695 (Serial Nos. 95000 to 95007 and 95009 to 95071)

What the problem is: Some door fasteners may have cracked or broken due to stress during flight (shear loads). A failed door could cause rapid cabin decompression or other serious safety issues.

What you must do: Complete the inspection within 25 hours of flying time after 10 August 1981, following the procedure in Gulfstream Service Bulletin No. 184.

Why it matters: Prevents the main cabin door from failing in flight, protecting passengers and crew from decompression hazards.
