Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this requires: This directive mandates an immediate safety inspection of the main landing gear truss (the structural framework that holds the main wheels) on specific Twin Commander aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Twin Commander (Gulfstream/Rockwell/Aero Commander 500, 600, and 700 series) aeroplanes with serial numbers 231 to 892, except serial numbers 871 and 875.

What you must do: You must carry out the inspection procedures described in Aero Commander Service Letter No. 129 immediately. The term "forthwith" means without delay—as soon as practically possible.

Why it matters: This is a mandatory safety requirement issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to detect potential structural defects in the landing gear before they cause a failure.
