AD/AC-112/6

Amdt 4

Front Seat and Shoulder Harness 7/87

Applicability: All models 112 and 112B with S/Nos 3 to 544 and 13000, Models 112TC and 112TCA with S/Nos 13001 to 13309.

Requirement: Unless already accomplished modify the front seats and belt attachments in accordance with either.

Rockwell Service Bulletin SB-112-45A, or

b. Gulfstream Aerospace SB-112-70A Rev 1.

Compliance: Within 100 hours’ time in service after 30 June 1987 but not later than 30 June 1988.

Background: This Directive is amended to reflect the resolution of the problems affecting earlier issues. It should be noted that whilst the Rockwell Bulletin modifies the aircraft seats and belts to the minimum acceptable standard required by ANO 101.22 there have been accidents overseas which were classified as surviveable, in which the seat occupants were fatally injured. Following those accidents the Gulfstream Bulletin was issued which increased the margin of safety to compensate for the fuselage deflection phenomena of this aircraft design.
