Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: An Airworthiness Directive (AD) — a mandatory safety order issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) under the Civil Aviation Regulations.

What it requires: Owners and operators must modify specific aircraft immediately (the legal term used is "forthwith," which means without delay).

Who is affected: Only S.L. Industries Commander 100 and Volair 10 series aircraft with serial numbers 026, 027, 028, 029, 030, 031, 032, and 033.

What must be done: The modifications are set out in two manufacturer documents: Aero Commander Model 100 SL No. 2 and SL No. 5 (likely service bulletins detailing engineering changes).

Why it matters: ADs address unsafe conditions. Until these modifications are completed, the affected aircraft cannot legally fly.
